Max and Chasten have a somewhat drunken hook-up, not knowing who the other is. So it comes as a surprise when they’re introduced at the engagement part of Max’ best friend Paige, and her husband to be Austin, who is Chasten’s brother. Max is going to be her man of honor, and he is going to be Austin’s best man. When Chasten takes over most of the wedding planning duties, Max feels slighted as he is Paige’s best gay friend, who has no interest in planning any of the wedding stuff. There are clashes between the two men, and also an attraction. When things start to go haywire before the wedding, Max and Chasten soon figure out they can’t fight what is between them, and they need to figure how things between them will go during and after the wedding. This is a fun, well-written book, with lots of lists, and pop-culture references. The relationships between the three main characters is fun to read, and invest in. A great debut novel.

You can pick up Best Men in stores on Tuesday, May 2nd from Berkley.
