Bastian Emerson is a vampire, is gay, and has been off of human blood for five years now. He’s not the typical vampire; he can be out during the day, he sleeps in a bed, and only drinks animal blood. On vacation from his home in England, he is visiting an Italian seaside town, along with his talking cat, Whitby, his familiar. When he finds a dead body in the water, he is arrested and accused of the murder, for which he is innocent. He is put under house arrest, and being watched by a cop named De Luca, who is hot and in the closet. The Vampire Council has been called, and it means bad news for him, and he pleads with De Luca to help him find the real killer. Then another body is found, and now time is running out to find the killer. Along the way, he gets close to De Luca, they have hot sex, and shocking secrets are revealed, a daring rescue is made, and a shocking reveal as to who the killer is. This is a fun, sexy, hot book, filled with fun characters, and a cat that isn’t afraid to speak her mind, and is a hoot. A perfect gay summer rom-com.
