Margaret Bradley is a bestselling romance writer, whose stories all have HEA endings (happily ever after). She however doesn’t believe in happy endings, having been burned before, but doesn’t tell anyone. While on a podcast interview promoting her new novel, someone hacks her computer and finds her alternate endings to all her novels, which were not happy endings. Most of her fans turn against her and her sister, Savannah, who has a medical condition, books her on a six-week vacation in Alaska, so she can write her new novel, whatever that may be. On her first day there, she meets Forrest, a hunk of a man, who is the all-around handyman at the resort and also takes care of his sick father. They soon fall for each other, knowing that it can’t last because she will leave soon. Things change when he gets a grant in Los Angeles and would be 15 minutes from Margaret and it seems like they can be together until things change and he feels he has to stay and take care of his father and they may not get their HEA. This is a fun rom-com with two characters you root for. The setting is used perfectly here and the hot sex scenes heat things up. This is a great debut romance novel.
