Lexie West is a traveling nurse, and she’s working in New York City at a hospital, when things get out of control one night, a busload of children is brought in, and it gets to be too much for her. She quits her contract and gets a gig house-sitting, in a gorgeous penthouse. Callum Russo is a fixer, and he will do what it takes to take care of situations and gets paid well for doing it. He also owns the place Lexis is staying, and is shocked to see her. He is also attracted to her the first time he sees her. He ends up hiring her as part of his business staff, and she’s shocked at some of the things she sees. She is also attracted to him, they spar, he’s driven crazy by her, they finally have hot sex, and he can’t get enough of her, but Lexi is not sure she wants the life he lives, and she will have to live it if they stay together. This is a great book, with the chemistry between the two off the charts, the back-and-forth banter is first-rate, as are the supporting characters, who add a lot to the story. One of the best books of the year!
