The year is 1880 in an alternate time in New York City. Pendergast has followed his ward, Constance Green, as she looks to save her family and take down Enoch Leng once and for all. They entered through a portal, that has closed, and they could be stuck here. Leng is on to them, as each side makes plans for taking the other down. As the games of cat and mouse take place, it seems one side has the advantage, then the other side seems to know what is going to happen. A master plan is made, and now it has to be followed to the tee, in order to survive and take down Leng once and for all. It all comes down to a massive showdown and who will survive and what their lives will be like, whoever is left standing. This is another great novel in the series, and it ties up everything we have been waiting for. It’s all action, with twists and turns, like only Preston & Child can write. I can’t wait to see what they do next.
