Alyssa is still mourning the loss of her husband Garrett, almost two years ago, and now is about to turn 40. Here best friends convince her to go out for her birthday for drinks, and a psychic reading. At the reading, something strange happens, and the next morning there’s a ghost at the foot of her bed named Billy. She freaks out, and runs to her hot police detective neighbor, Nick West, who searches the house and finds nothing. Seems Alyssa has a gift that was awoken when she went for her reading, and now ghosts are showing up, and she has to help figure out how to cross over. Billy gives her information on the night he died, as does another ghost Jordan, who died in a similar fashion as Billy, and it also may have led to her husband’s death as well. With this new information, Nick starts looking at these cases, and Alyssa and Nick grow close as well, and she may not be ready for the truths she learns. Part rom-com, part ghost story, part love story, and all heart. This is a fun novel with a little bit of everything for everyone, and I love the interplay between Alyssa and Billy, who is snarky and gives us some laugh out loud moments. This one is a winner, folks!
