In London, in 1865, the Culpepper family lives a quiet, secretive life in their mansion. Edith and Edmund are twins, he runs the family business and controls the money, and Edith likes her photography. Minnie is sent to be a maid in the house, and soon is promoted to being Edith’s caregiver, to watch over her. Weird things are going on in the house, strange photos are being taken, and there are rumors of women dying there. In the present day, Hadley, who works in the art world, has been gifted a photo album, and it sets off a flurry of activity around it. One picture was stolen, and the album was part of the Culpetter estate, having belonged to Edith. Now, Kit Culpepper has made Hadley an offer for it, one she has turned down. She’s determined to find out the secrets behind it. Hadley has also been getting weird texts, as has Kit. They spend a lot of time together, and soon fall for each other, but until Hadley learns the shocking truths behind his family, she cannot commit to anything. An intense gothic duel timeline story that will keep you reading along.
