Jazz Ramsey is asleep when her phone rings in the middle of the night. She thinks it might be her cop boyfriend Nick, who is on assisgnment. But it’s not him it’s his mother Kim. And she needs her help. She said she killed a man and his body in the back yard. She goes over and checks and there’s no body. Kim has a drinking problem and Jazz thinks this illusion is part of it. But then the body of a man named Dan Mansfield is found in a park not far from Kim’s, things don’t add up. He was release not too long ago from jail and is on parole. Jazz starts investigating him and his association with Kim and others in her town. She seems to get a little too close for comfort and someone runs her down with their bike and leaves a warning note. But Jazz will not let up and learns shocking secrets and is finally able to figure out the killer but it may be too late for her.
Another solid novel in the series with Jazz and with well place twists and turns to keep the reader on their toes. And with a cute puppy in training named Wally you can’t got wrong.
