Valerie Cooper lives in New Orleans in a big house now that her twin sons are off to college at LSU. She’s a widow, having lost her husband five years ago. When she gets a letter from a law firm, it changes everything. Her late husband and his heirs (including Valerie) are left money and an antique’s business from an estranged uncle of her late husband. This leads Valerie on a journey to find out everything about the man, and what happened with the family. It also infuriates Collette, a realtor in town, and a horrible woman, who had expectations of being in the will. While at a costume party for a local club, Collette is found murdered, and Valerie finds out that she really hated her, and has no idea why. As Valerie investigates while she was hated, and who the late uncle was, it leads her to shocking reveals, and her life in danger, as she’s getting too close to the truth. A good start to this new series, set in New Orleans, with fun characters, and a good murder mystery.

You can pick up A Streetcar Named Murder in stores on Tuesday, December 6th from Crooked Lane.
