Jess Bricker has her own business helping people plan their marriage proposals, so they go off without a hitch. Diana is an old high school classmate, they weren’t really friends, she was proposed to by Trenton, who comes from a rich family, and it didn’t go the way she wanted it to. She gets Trenton to hire Jess, for a lot of money, to help craft a great proposal. Jess gets roped into attending a week’s long trip to a high-end resort, Golden Ash, with Diana and other bridal members. It’s got no internet or cellphone service. This trip is not what she wants to do, but the money will be incredible. She meets to hot chef, Dean, and finds an instant attraction with him. Then she finds a dead body and then another dead body and Dean is by her side when all this goes down and they fall for each other. As she helps investigate the deaths, she learns shocking secrets and someone doesn’t want her alive to spoil their plans and she may not make it out alive to see if things with Dean will work out. Part murder mystery, part rom-com, this is a good mix novel, with some well-placed twists and turns, makes for a fun novel to read.
