Hayley Snow has some food critic reviews to do, and is also getting ready to help her friend with last-minute wedding details. She gets a weird email, and almost deletes it. An author named Catherine Davitt has reached out to her tp help solve a forty-year-old cold case, her friend Veronica vanished back then, when they were at a hippy camp, and the police back then didn’t help much. Haley agrees to meet with her, and they take a trip to Big Pine Key, where everything took place all those years ago, and they find some of the people that were part of the group, still living in the area. One of the men they visit, Ned, is found dead, stabbed with scissors. The murder opens up a possibility for looking back at Veronica’s missing case. When Catherine goes missing, Hayley turns up her investigation skills, and soon finds her own life in danger, when she gets to close to the truth. This is the 14th book in the series, and it’s another good one. Author Lucy Burdette also throws in recipes from some of the foods they ear throughout the novel.
