It’s time for the Killer Lines Crime Fiction Festival in a small English town. The biggest names in crime fiction are attending and for Jane Hepburn a chance to pitch her crime series, which features her character of Private Detective Baker to a lot of people. She has had six novels out and they have done okay. On the first night of the event she sneaks into the book tent to put her books front and center and then she finds the body of Carrie Marks, a famous literary agent, who was loved and hated. She decides to investigate the murder, along with new writer Natasha Martez, who was a client of Carrie and intern Daniel Thurston. The three of them interview the most obvious suspects and start to narrow down suspects. As they get closer to the truth they find shocking reveals and someone doesn’t want Jane to uncover what they really did. This is a fun murder mystery, with three enjoyable characters and a great setting at the book festival. A good beach read.
