Ruby Young has a new, furnished apartment in Boston, and it comes with one extra thing, Cordelia, who committed suicide in the apartment. Ruby is aware she’s there, and they even try and find ways to communicate. When Cordy sees the dead body of Jake, outside the apartment building in the snow, the man who lived across from her and Ruby, she knows he was murdered. The police are not sure, they think it was a mugging. Ruby and Cordy decide to team up and find out what really happened to him. As Ruby investigates, Cordy follows her to most places, and even saves her on occasion, and they become friends (sort of). When the truth finally comes out, it puts Ruby in a tough spot, and Cordy might be the only one to save her. This is a fun, supernatural mystery, where friendship becomes the key to solving the murder. It’s left on a cliffhanger that will be the plot of the next book (and hopefully there’s going to be more books).
