Lindsey Norris is the library director in Briar Creek and loves her job. It’s the holiday season and she has a bunch of things planned for the library, including bestselling author Helen Monroe, as writer-in-residence. Jackie Lewis is another writer who is in town, and seems overly happy about Helen being in town, and stalker alert goes off in Lindsey’s head, and for good reason. As it turns out there’s bad blood between the two of them. Then there’s Betty Caruthers, who is determined to ban Helen’s books and run her out of town, she has a history with the woman. Then the body of Jackie is found in the town park,. Helen becomes the number one suspect, and Lindsey, who is no stranger to murders in the town, starts investigating and finds her own life in danger. This is the 15th novel in the series, and my first time reading one. It’s a fun, small-town murder mystery, filled with fun, unique, someone quirky at times supporting characters. Fans of these kinds of novels will enjoy this one.
