Kira left her east Texas town years ago after her mother committed suicide (which never believe she would do), and never looked back. She barely talks to her sister or rich grandmother. Then she gets an invited to a vow renewal, and isn’t planning on going, until her grandmother tells her she has to tell her something about her mother. When she agrees to go, her best friend Jack, also from there, and his wife and son will attend. She’s always had the hots for Jack. When she gets there, she learns her mother has written her memoir, and it gives her clues about her mother, and who would have wanted to kill her. This small town has lots of secrets from that time, and Kira learns a lot of them. She also gets threatening texts, but is determined to figure out what happened all those years ago, even if it puts her own life in danger. This is an intense, character driven thriller, with lots of twists and turns, and a stunning reveal of what happened all those years ago. Fans of this genre will like this one.

You can pick up A Likeable Woman in stores on Tuesday, July 11th from Berkley.
