The small town of Serivce, West Virginia, is the setting for this second novel featuring the Calvary brothers. Noah lost his PawPaw, whom he loved a lot, on his sixth birthday. On that day, he made a pact with Rachel, also six, that he would build her a house, marry her, and have cats. At the senior prom, Rachel heard something, and left Noah for college, and never looked back, breaking Noah’s heart. Now, Noah is a fireman, and up for chief, and working on a committee to redevelop the town. Rachel has also returned to town for her father’s wedding, and it’s the first time in 13 years they have seen each other. Rachel ends up helping the committee, and the attraction between the two is off the charts, and they start having hot sex, fall in love, and now have to figure out their future might be, with her living in San Diego, until something happens that could derail them forever. a great tom-com and follow-up to the first book, with the tension and attraction between the two off the charts. A great supporting group of characters, including her best friend Brian, a cat named ClamClam, and a rooster named Ricky. A perfect summer beach read.
