Toyko police detective, Yoshitaro Katayama, who is squeamish around blood and a lot of people, is assigned to go to a women’s cottage to interview the dean about a murder that took place with one of the students, who was believed to be part of a prostitution ring. While there, he also meets Holmes the cat, who takes a liking to him. Then, shortly after the meeting, the dean is found dead, and Katayama gets custody of the cat. This is no ordinary cat; it seems to know a lot of things and helps him solve the cases he is working on. Soon, he figures out who the murderer is, and solves the prostitution ring, all with the help of Holmes. This is a fun novel with the awesome duo of Katayama and Holmes (who might be the character in all books this year). This one is not to be missed.
