Abigail Adams was married to the legendary John Adams, attorney, member of the first Congress, and was a fighter and envoy to France, to get their help in the fight against England. She was so much more than a wife. With her husband away a lot, she had to raise her kids, deal with deaths, British soldiers, droughts on her farm, running out of money, food and supplies. Abigail never let it get her down. She was a fighter and always managed to find a way to get the things she needed to keep her family alive. She also tries to get John to include rights for women, something she failed at, but fought for. Later in life as the wife of an ambassador, wife to the Minister to England, and even as first lady, she never gave up any hope, and fought for what she believed. This is her story, in a great historical fiction novel, that brings everything to light. Fans of these kinds of novels will enjoy this one.
