The year is 1924, and the Endeavour, a luxury cruise ship, sails from London to New York, with over 2000 people onboard. When an elderly man is found dead, it’s first believed to have been an accident. James Temple, a cop from London and part of Scotland Yard, thinks otherwise and demands to investigate. The captain of the ship agrees to it as long as the ships’ officer, Timothy Birch, helps him as well, although the two don’t get along. Then another guest is found dead, and all leads point to the art world, and paintings aboard for the New York Art Fair. When they finally figure out who the killer is, it leads to their lives being in danger, and to a shocking twist you never see coming. This is a well-written murder mystery, with the ship a perfect setting. Fans of Agatha Christie will enjoy this one a lot. A perfect summer beach read.
