It’s Christmas time and Hailey Morgan, who teaches music for a living and has always dreamed of writing professionally and singing and using the holiday to work on it. She has to visit her parents first for the holiday, until she learns her ex, Zach, who broke her heart 3 years ago, and has been texting her to get back together now, is invited as well. Hailey takes up the offer of her friend to stay at her Grandmother’s isolated cabin Podunk, Oregon to get away from everyone and work on her music. On her first day there she meets Jay, who used to be the lead singer of a popular band, until they broke up, and sparks fly, as does the music, with a Christmas song she wrote and performed goes viral. Things change when her sister shows up, then her parents, then Zack, then the man who loves her sister, and suddenly Hailey’s whole holiday and time alone is shot, and Jay suffers a setback, and it impacts their budding relationship. This is another great Christmas rom-com, at its heart is about family and love, from author Debbie Macomber, who is semi-retired from writing, and we’re all lucky she has decided to write another novel. Hopefully, there’s more to come.
