Lindsay Boxer is a homicide detective, Yuki Castellano is an assistant district attorney, Claire Washburn is a medical examiner and Cindy Thomas is a reporter and they are best friends and make up the Women’s Murder Club. They often get together and compare notes on cases. Lindsay is working on a tough murder case, her former mentor and partner, Warren Jacobi, has been found dead and the only clue is a matchbook with ‘I said. You dead,’ written on it. Then others are found dead as well with the same phrase. Yuki is trying a case against a dangerous Mexican cartel member and things go off the rail when the judge in the case is murdered and the two cases may be tied together. With the help of an FBI agent, Lindsay gets a potential suspect, Cindy uncovers new evidence and Yuki finds her life in danger with the trial resumes in a new location. All in a day’s work for these women. This is another good novel in the series. These are four strong women who are friends and it’s refreshing to follow them along. This is another winner in this series.
