One of the best Rom-Coms of the year. This novel is smartly written, with enjoyable characters you root for, in a great setting. This book has it all and more. A perfect summer beach, pool or just staying cool read.

Julia Carpenter and her friends are big rom-com fans and want to find the right men. But they haven’t had much luck. Julia is also worried she’s going to lose her job at a Chicago website she writes for. She pitches a big new article that will hopefully keep her job. She gets invited to the opening of a new Rom-Com themed resort called Notting Hill. Guests go there to roll-play and hopefully find that special someone. Luke is in charge of the whole thing along with his best friend and his sister. The owner is a rich older woman who has promised Luke a big bonus is things go well the first week. Luke knows a reporter is coming and wants to impress her and he decides to play the game as well. He meets Julia right off but is mistaken as to who the reporter is. He thinks it’s one of her friends. They grow close as the week goes on and start to fall for each other. But like all rom-coms things happend and they may not have their fantasy rom-com ending. One of the highlights of the novel are the Seagulls Bonny and Clyde and the love of rom-coms that author Melonie Johnson has and uses throughout the book.
