A murder has taken place at the Heights, an exclusive, rich apartment complex in London. On this night, Dwayne Hogarth, the night shift security guard, is found dead. Detective Gillian Gish and her partner are on the case. With no surveillance available, somehow it was turned off, and now all the residents of the building are being interviewed. There’s quite a collection of people that live in this building, and slowly secrets are revealed, and there are any number of potential suspects in the case. When they finally get a break in the case, they are able to solve just what has been going on in the building. A solid police thriller, with interesting characters and twists and turns. I will say author Ian Rankin has written better novels.
