Cedar Lake isn’t known for much, but it is famous for the slasher film, Slasher, being filmed here in the 80’s. There was a group in high school dedicated to the movie, led by Patrick, Jason, TIffany, Micky Freddy, Jennifer, and Carrie. They all played a part in the movie at some point during midnight showings. Now, years later, they all reunite at the cabin where the movie was filmed, for a weekend to pay tribute to the movie. From the moment they get there, strange things start to happen. All tropes in what happened in the horror movie, a strange phone call, a mysterious visitor, a person dressed as the slasher, and slowly people are dying, and it soon is revealed who and why, and the question is who will survive this murderous spree. This is a fun throwback to classic 80’s horror movies. The story, the characters, and the intense fright, all lead to one of the campiest novels this year.
