Five years ago, Kendall Carter left the spy business after the loss of the man she was seeing and who is the father of her 4-year-old daughter, Rosie. She went to ground and has been living a quiet life, always looking over her shoulder. Well, they have now shown up, her friend is dead, and she’s back in London, and working again for Rico, the owner of Bon Temps, who is her handler and friend. He has set her up in a new house, and she is training Joel, who lives in the apartment below her. As the days and weeks go on, things are not what they seem. People she thinks she can trust turn out to be the bad guys. Her past catches up with her and she’s in for a shock when two people re-enter her life, and she has to try and shut down a dangerous new website before it goes live. This is the debut novel of author Kemp, and it’s a good one. Kendall is a strong, smart female who can stand with anyone. This debut novel sets the stage for future stories that are left hanging by the time you finish this one. A perfect spring beach read.
