Molly and Stewart are married, have two sons, live in New York, and are about to buy a house. When Molly meets a man named Matt at a bar, she tells Stew (that’s what she calls him), and it turns him on. He encourages her to go out with him, and see what happens, with his blessing, he just wants details. This starts an open marriage, they can both date and sleep with others, and Stew always wants details. Molly is not so sure about him being with other women, and hearing about it, but soon overcomes it. The true life story follows them along over the years of their dates, sexual encounters, the pros and cons of having an open marriage, it’s harder for Molly than for Stew. But through it all their love for each other, as well as their family, is what’s most important. This is a brutally honest novel, nothing is left off the table. Open marriages are not for everyone, although I think more couples do it than don’t do it. For any couples thinking about this lifestyle, this is the book for you.
