Book Review: ‘Don’t You Dare: A Novel’ By Jessica Hamilton

Hannah and Scarlett were best friends, and when they got into college, Scarlett moved to a dorm room, and Hannah was with her all the time. Then they met Thomas, and all three became great friends, and even fooled around together, with rules attached. Then Scarlett came up with the Daring Game, where each one would have to do a dare, and there were certain rules they had to follow, until one dare went too far. Hannah and Thomas were in love, but then Thomas just left after what happened. Now today, Hannah is married to Evan, and has two girls. She’s not very happy these days, and is drinking a lot. Then Thomas is back and wants to see her. She knows she should not, but she does, and soon they are playing the Daring Game again, and having an affair. But things are getting out of control, and Hannah says they need to cool it. But someone else knows everything, and is making them continue the game, and soon their lives are in danger. Who is this new player, and what is this person after? A solid thriller, that keeps you engaged with these well-written characters. It has twists and turns, sexy scenes, and a dramatic climax, where not everyone will survive.
