Whether you are planning a glitzy celeb-filled awards event or want to create the perfect atmosphere for a charity gala, there are many things that go into planning a red carpet event.
You need to have the right venue, the right entertainment, the best food – and a red carpet, where all your guests have a chance to strut their stuff, show off their outfits, and catch the notice of the paparazzi. You’ll need to think about things like entertainment and drinks options, as well as inviting the right people.
These experiences don’t come cheap – but with a little bit of planning, you could create the event of the year and do something that everyone will be talking about.
Let’s start with choosing the perfect venue.
Red Carpet Venues
The venue you choose will be the setting of the night and will create the atmosphere and the ambience that you are looking for. Choosing the right venue will set the tone and give your guests an experience that they will never forget.
Things to Think About
There are several considerations when it comes to choosing your venue:
• Cost – the best and most impressive venues won’t come cheap, but in most cases, you get what you pay for.
• Accessibility – how will your guests arrive to the venue?
• Seating Capacity – if you are hosting a dinner, you need to know the maximum number of guests that can be accommodated when seated.
• Standing Capacity – this is often more than the seated capacity and will be important if you want your guests to be able to move around.
• Dancefloor/Ballroom – the best events have music, and some of your guests might want to have a dance.
• Catering Options – a personal chef or the catering company provided by the venue?
• Bar – will you have a paid bar, an open bar, or just provide wine on the table?
• Entrance Area – is it suitable for a red carpet?
Venue Options
If money is no issue, then below are some of the most brilliant and beautiful locations in the world that you could host a red carpet event at.
Madame Tussauds, London
This is such an interesting place to hold an event, where you can ‘rub shoulders’ with celebrities, royals, and sports stars without having to invite them. Guests can enter through the exclusive red carpet entrance and share the spotlight with the 150+ striking wax figures in a modern yet glamorous location.
Hippodrome Casino, London
For the best of entertainment in London, the Hippodrome Casino can offer so much for your event. Centrally located, the Hippodrome has been at the centre of entertainment culture since I was built, starting out as a theatre, and now hosting multi-floor casino, function rooms, delectable restaurants, and entertainment in the shape of Magic Mike. Make it a casino event so your guests can play slots or card games or take over one of the other rooms – all catered for with your very own event planner.
583 Park Avenue, New York
New York is the epitome of understated glam, and this landmark event venue was made with red carpets in mind. Originally designed by architectural firm Delano & Alrich in 1923, it was restored in 2006 and features a sweeping entrance that provides the perfect backdrop for those paparazzi pictures. Inside, ballrooms, galleries, and smaller rooms are available, all finished to the same immaculate standards.
Warner Bros. Studios, Los Angeles
Visiting the Warner Bros. Studios is an event in itself, but there are areas set up specifically to host events – and what could be more Hollywood than having your event in a film studio? You can choose from one of several backlots (scenes created to be used in different films and TV shows), from Brownstone Street for that old world chic, or Midwest Street for the 1950s flair. Full on set dressing and design services are available, as well as catering so you can really make the event your own.
The Bellagio, Las Vegas
Another casino on this list, but one that is definitely well-deserving. The Bellagio might be one of the most famous casinos in the world, not just for the dancing fountains and the sumptuous interior, but also because it has been featured in several blockbuster movies. You can choose to host an even in the Galler of Fine Art or make it more relaxed using the pools and courtyard area.
Grand Palais des Champs-Elysees, Paris
Although currently undergoing some important modernisation work, the Grand Palais is a cornerstone of Parisian art – and the perfect place for your event. Known for hosting some of the most stunning fashion events, the Grand Palais is both an exhibition hall and a museum, gifted by the Republic to “the glory of French art.” The impressive space is stunning to look at and in a helpful central location, too.
