About the Film:
Set in 1916 as war rages on the Western Front, THE CHORAL follows the Choral Society in Ramsden, Yorkshire, after most of its men have been lost to the army. Determined to carry on, the committee recruits local young men and hires a new chorus master — the enigmatic Dr. Henry Guthrie (Ralph Fiennes), recently returned from Germany. As conscription papers begin to arrive, the community discovers that music may be their strongest response to the chaos threatening their lives.
