Years ago, in high school a group of four called themselves the Breakfast Club and were always up to no good. One night, they decided to rob a house and stole items that they shouldn’t have, and ever since, they have been targeted to get back one particular thing. Today, two of them are dead, and a third is being targeted. Andrew Fechmeier, who has a deadly disease, goes to a local funeral home to make his last wishes and leave a suit to be buried in, which has something sewn into it. When he returns to his hotel room, he is murdered. Zig, who is a mortician, gets a call from Roddy, who is a cop, and whose twin sister is Nola, asking for his help investigating the murder. It leads to him uncovering evidence that his mother, who died when he was three, and was ruled a suicide, was actually murdered. The more they investigate, it rattles feathers, and they are warned off, only to be joined by Nola, and it leads to shocking secrets about what was stolen years ago, and who has been killing people. This is an intense thrill ride with great characters in Zig and Nola. This is my first time reading one of these novels and this is the third one, and I will be back for more if there are any. Author Brad Meltzer never disappoints with his novel.
