Rosemarie, Ada, Caroline, and Kasey have been best friends since they were young, and refer to themselves as RACK. Kasey is returning to her hometown for the first time in 15 years, for a wedding, and reunion. But things are a lot different now. When she fled in 2004, it was after her mother died at the hands of her abusive step-father Roy, only she knew the truth. She also left her high school love, Silas. She’s engaged now to be married, but seeing Silas again starts to change things. Also, RACK learns that Caroline is being abused by her husband, she lands in the hospital, and the three remaining girls decide to take matters into their own hands. The novel gives a lot of backstories on all four characters from years ago and today, with many twists that you don’t see coming. This is a very character driven novel about friendship, and family, and you get engaged with all four of these ladies, and root for them. A perfect July 4th novel.

You can pick up Goodbye Earl in stores on Monday, July 3rd from Grand Central.
