Jack Reacher is in Baltimore to catch a concert and is at a coffee shop and observes two older people being fleeced of their money. He puts a stop to it by beating up a couple of people and returning the money. On his way back to the coffee shop, a man, Nathan Gilmour, who is in some trouble, drops a note into Jack’s coat, thinking he is someone else asking for a meeting. Jack shows up to let him know he has the wrong person, and as soon as Jack hears his story, he ends up staying in town to help him out. It leads to Jack finding out who is after Nathan, which leads to dead bodies and something more is at work. A shipment at the docks that is going to be stolen and could lead to a war in Asia, and Jack decides to stay in town and stop the plot. This is the 30th book in the series and it follows the familiar pattern of all the other Jack Reacher novels. He is usually in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it’s not a bad thing. This is another fun and exciting Reacher novel. He beats up people and shows why he is a badass. Fans of the series will enjoy this one.
