House cleaner Celia Barnes is at the house of Kate and Mike Miller, two wealthy people who live in a very expensive house. She comes across the dead body of Kate and calls the police. Outside watching is the killer. Several objects are placed around the body, including a copy of a book by author Laughton Rees, who happens to be the daughter of the police commissioner, they’re estranged at this time. She’s asked to assist on the case by Detective Tannahill, the lead on the case. Then the budy of Mike Miller is found and it looks like Laughton might be a target as well. When they figure out who the killer is and why, Laughton and her daughter Grace are in danger and the killer is on the verge of striking again. A solid psycholigal thriller that starts out fast and never gives up. With some well-timed twists and turns, you are engaged throughout and want to keep reading.

You can pick up Dark Objects in stores on Tuesday, July 12th from William Morrow.
