It’s winter in New York City and it’s a bad one. A lot of snow and very cold temperatures. And now there’s a serial killer on the loose. This killer is a very good shooter from long distances and is able to cover tracks. The FBI is at loss so they call on the one man they know can help them. Ex-FBI agent Lucas Page.
Lucas left 10 years ago and is now a Professor and an author. He suffered through a tragic event and lost a leg, arm, eye and now has prosthetics. He is married to Erin and they foster children. They currently have five kids and a dog. He has no interest at all in helping them out until he finds out one of the victims is his ex partner. Page agrees to help and it doesn’t make his wife happy.
Lucas has a gift where he can sense where things have happened and is able to find the locations from the shooters. They find no evidence at any of the scenes. All of the victims so far are connected by the fact they are in law enforcement. The more they dig into the connections of each murder leads them to a fringe group. And soon the killer targets Page’s family and that motivates him more. Will he be able to save his family and track down this killer before it’s too late.
The character of Lucas Page might be one of the best all year. He is smart, has an attitude, is grumpy with a chip on his shoulder and loves his family. A very well developed character I wouldn’t mind seeing again. The story starts off strong and just keeps going. Just a great thriller all the way through.
