Beth and Seth Lloyd are twins and have inherited their aunt’s food truck, Kluckin Good, which has a big following, and a chicken mascot suit. As the book opens, Beth has been arrested in the suit for an altercation with fellow food truck owner, Benji, who is an old, mean coot. She dubs the cop that arrested her, Officer Pretty Boy, a name that sticks with his fellow officers. Beth finds out that Kluckin has been selected as for a food truck reality show. When filming gets underway, Benji, who was selected to be on the show, is found dead, and Beth is a prime suspect. Then there’s another murder, and things on this set don’t seem right. Beth decides to do her own investigation while helping Officer Pretty Boy, and together they work to bring down the killer. This is the first book in the series, and it’s a good one. The characters, the story and the pending romance between Beth and Pretty Boy is something to look forward to in future books. Fans of small-town murder mysteries will enjoy this one.
