Barbra Jacobs is an actress who is forty and is a legenday scream queen. She starred in six Mirror horror films and was the last one to survive. She has been trying to put that behind her and move on with her career but has been pigeonholed in the role. Now, she does lots of conventions, signing autographs and dealing with fans. When she finds a fan dead in the bathroom, that mirrors one of the famous deaths in her movies. When she is approached to be the host of a docuseries, The Monsters We Made, which looks at horror movies over the years. Then another body shows up and again in the vain of her movies. Then the show makes a deal with the original writer of the first movie to film a reunion episode at the original house where the movie was filmed, she agrees to go, and it turns into a nightmare. Someone is slowly killing everyone that was part of the original movie, and Barbra has to figure out who is killing everyone before it’s too late for her. A slasher movie that keeps killing, with twists and turns and social commentary on what life is like for actresses of a certain age. A good Halloween read.
