Gertie Bickerstaff lives in England and is a bestselling author of four books in her Bedlam Creek Ranch series. Her fifth and final novel in the series is due in just over two weeks, and she hasn’t written one word yet. She was just dumped by her boyfriend, Henry, after four years, and has writer’s block. When she wakes up after a ritual on the roof, she finds a shirtless hunk on her sofa, and his name is Riley Oakley, the villain from her book series. He has no idea how he got here, nor does she. He figures out the way to get back to his reality is to show Gertie how to find love, not knowing that the two of them would fall for each other. When she gets her mojo back, Gertie is able to write her book, and knowing that when she types the words ‘the end’ she will lose Riley and this hot new love she has, or will she lose him? This is a great rom-com, with the use of the London areas a hoot for Gertie to show to Riley. The supporting cast is outstanding, and watch out for Squish the dog; he steals the book. This is as perfect as you can get for an outstanding summer beach read.
