Frances and Ben have been married and have been together since college. They’re happily in love, have a great sex life, and are talking about babies at some point. For now, though, they have decided to have an open marriage. They are honest with each other about what they do and who they do it with. They meet Lily at a restaurant and end up having a hot night with her, then Covid hits, and things are put on hold. After covid they get back to their swinging ways and explore new people and new things. Ben even tries having sex with a man. When they open up to some of their friends, they get mixed results of what their friends think. There are shifts back and forth, and we learn backstories about them and their friends and family. When Ben falls for another woman, will this be the end of them or a new beginning? This is the debut novel of author Faison, and it’s a good one. I believe there are a lot of people who open their marriage, and she never preaches or takes one side or the other. The novel looks at all sides of what they do, gets intense at times, funny at other times, but at its core it’s about the love of two people.
