The sixteenth book in the series is a time of change for food critic Hayley Snow and her husband, Nathan, who is a police officer in Key West. They are expecting their first child, she is in her eighth month, they have bought a house that needs some work. Miss Gloria and Annie have moved into the guest cottage behind the house. When Deputy Darcy Rogers shows up asking for Hayley’s help, Nathan is not happy. She wants Hayler to go along on a custody switch between parents, Reba and Mack, and it should be a very thing to do. Only it isn’t, Reba, the mother vanishes, and her daughter Tamara is left with her. Then Mack is found dead at Reba’s house, and Tamara has been taken by a fake social worker. Hayley is determined to find out what happened to Reba and who killed Mack. Hayley keeps at it right up until she goes into labor, she has her baby, and she helps solve the case. All in a day’s work for her. This is another fun novel in the series, with a lot of changes taking place. Fans of small-town murder mysteries, with fun, quirky characters, will enjoy this one.
