Rory is in high school and is at another academic event, and hoping to end his losing streak to hot hockey player, Luca, who is from Long Island. Rory has lost to him 35 time sover the years. When Rory loses his temper and throws a smoothie at Luca, the video goes viral, and Rory loses his invites to a lot of prestigious places. So this summer he is sent to Brain, on the west coast, where everyone there is pitted against each other, and the ultimate winner gets a scholarship to an Ivy League school. Rory is ready to work and win, until he spots Luca, who is also at the camp. This throws him off, and he decides he is going to make Rory fall in love with him and then break his heart. As classes and dirty pranks crank up, the two men become friends, and then more, until truths are revealed, and it may just be the end for Rory and Luca. This is a heartwamring story of two lonely people who need each other, they just don’t know it yet. This is a well-written, young adult gay rom-com, and it hits all the right notes.
