Ellie McCain grew up in Vancouver, Canada, and was in love with Rory Campbell since she was a kid. They got close, broke up, got close again, and then broke up when she was leaving to movie to New York to pursue an acting career. There she met Ben, who became her roommate and then more. They fell in love, but Rory was always in her heart. She would see him here and there over the years. Then things became hard, her boss was being a jerk and Ben was getting acting jobs, and Ellie wasn’t. She would follow Rory, who became a professional golfer, and a pretty good one. They end up finding their way back to each other off and on over the years, and now have to figure out if they can overcome their past and move forward. The novel is back and forth over the years, as we follow along with Ellie from the time she left home. Watching Ellie and Rory fight for each other is heartwarming, and you root for them to be together. One of the better rom-coms of the year.
