Phoebe Berman lives in Los Angeles, she is a Pre-K teacher, lives with her best friend, Jonathan, loves romance novels, is about to turn 30, and is still a virgin. She has an anxiety problem that makes her terrified of dating. She is determined to have sex by her birthday, which is in 30 days. She makes a list of things she wants to do in those 30 days, to hopefully meet men. When school starts, she runs into a hot new teacher, Finn, who teaches the fourth grade. There’s also teacher Rob as a possibility. Then there is Matthew, who she has texted with off and on for a while, who lives in New York, whom she has never met. We follow along as she counts down the days, deals with each of these men, and wonders if one of them will be the one. This is the fun book of the year. Following along on Phoebe’s journey, her friendships and her family are heartwarming. This is the debut novel from author Brooke Averick, and she delivers big time. This is a perfect Memorial Day beach novel. This one is not to be missed.
