Stone Barrington is out with his client and friend, Trenton Sydney, on his new yacht for its maiden voyage. When he heads to his cabin after drinks, he feels woosy and the next thing he knows, he wakes up and the ship is sinking. He grabs a life jacket and is rescued in the water by the Coast Guard. He soon learns the boat was sabotaged. Days later, he sees on the news that Dame Felicity, head of M16, has been killed, only for her to show up alive at his Maine house. Somebody has been trying to kill her, and it was set up to give her time to figure out who it is. Stone soon learns that both situations are tied together by one man, and it soon leads to a climactic showdown at his Maine estate, where he loses something precious to him. This is the 67th book in the series, and it’s another great one. Author Brett Battles has these characters and plots perfectly, and somewhere, Stuart Woods has a smile on his face. My favorite bromance team of Stone and Dino have some classic barbs back and forth, and are the highlight of this book. Longtime fans will enjoy this one.
