Emmie Wynnne has returned to her small Pacific Northwest town in order to work at the family candy store after the death of her father and the illness of her mother. She has a son and is a single mother. She one day has a dream of opening her own chocolate shop. It’s her 34th birthday, and once again, she is hoping to have her vision, something that every woman of the family has, that will show her true destiny. This year, she finally gets it, and it is not what she expected. Jakob is also back in town, working at his family’s bakery. Emmie and Jakob were best friends in high school, until she ruined everything with them and broke his heart. As the days go by, Emmie must decide what it is her heart wants, and may just get her destiny fulfilled, edited a bit from what she saw. A fun rom-com with well-written characters and a story with a touch of magic. You root for Emmie to get what it is she wants out of love. A perfect summer beach read.
