The setting is Clemetine, California, where twins Beth and Seth Lloyd have a food truck, Kluckin’ Good, which they got from their late aunt. Beth runs the truck, along with her friend, Rylie, who wears a chicken costume to attract attention. Seth is a lawyer who helps out when he can. Beth is single, and her mother is always trying to find her the right man. They’re headed to a food festival when they run into Beth’s ex-boyfriend, Brad Dawson, and dumped her years ago, who is a food critic. Seth gets into a fight with him, and punches him, and soon calmer heads take over. Then Brad’s body is found, he’s been murdered, and Beth and her crew are suspects. Beth decides to investigate, and she comes up with many suspects, and she needs to find who the killer is before it’s too late. This is the second book in the series, and it’s another good one. The small-town murder feel, and the characters are fun to read. Be ready to be hungry for some chicken.
