Three years ago, Reece McCarthen left her father, her boyfriend, Laken, who ghosted her, and her hometown for a new start. Now, she gets word that her father has taken off and left his farm of magical creatures to her. She heads back to Honey Brooke, not sure what she is going to do with the place, and who does she run into, Laken. She wants nothing to do with him and tends to the animals. When Laken continues to come around, she agrees to let him help with the animals, and to try and make the money she needs. The two get close again, and he tells her the reason he left three years ago and what he has been doing. Now with a second chance at love and happiness, Reece has to decide what it is she wants. This is a fun, magical novel, with cute animals who can be a pain in the ass. Watching Reese and Laken reconnect is heartwarming, and you root for them to be together.
