Tilly Turner is a stand-up comedian and the mother of twin girls, who moved back to Idaho after the death of her mother. She is encouraged to take pole dancing lessons to get out of the house and meet new people. She agrees to it, and after the first lesson, she goes out with other members of the class to a strip club, where she has a run-in with a rude man, who later turns up dead, and in the trunk of her car. She has no idea how he got there: she blacked out at some point during the evening. Tilly decides to figure out who he is, how he got there and why she was targeted. She slowly starts learning things about him, and that night and the horrible people he hangs out with. Along with her are her new friends and neighbor, who band together when things reach a crucial point, and is shocked when she finds out how he ended up in her car, and Tilly puts a plan in motion to hopefully catch the bad guys. This is a fun novel, with a great cast of characters, and easy-to-read story. Fans of the Finlay Donovan series will enjoy this one, as will anyone who likes lighthearted murder mysteries. A good summer beach read.
