Kath Parker is part of the US rowing team and is in Italy for an event that can determine her future in the sport. She needs to have a good showing in the event to save her sponsors and her spot at the Olympic Training Center in California. Things don’t go well when her boyfriend dumps her right before her race, and she finishes badly. She loses her spot at the training center and is told to go to the training center in Berkley to get ready for her next race in two months, the Pan Am Games. Her new training coach is Adrian, a hot man, whom she met in Italy briefly. He has a whole different routine for her to train, to get her out of her comfort zone. They soon fall for each other, and Kath makes it clear that it is just a fling; she has a race to win. Well, we know how these things go, and they fall for each other, but Kath walks away and heads to her race. Can she win her race and figure out what her heart really wants? Another fun rom-com with two characters you root for to be together. The training and behind-the-scenes of the rowing is fun to read, as author Ann Adams was actually a champion in kayaking, and it brings a lot to the story.
