Mark, Astrid, Booker and Valencia, along with her little girl, Lucia, are at the next meeting of Assassins Anonymous, a group for former killers, much like AA is for drinkers. Valencia has to rush to California to help her troubled brother, and leaves her little girl with the other three. It ends up turning into a nightmare when she gets sick, gets rushed to an emergency clinic, and is accused of kidnapping the kid, when they can’t give proof about the child. Mark is also in trouble, an old nemesis, from the Russian mob, has called in a marker, and he is told he has to kill Astrid within 48 hours, something he has no plans to do. It gets stickier when they know about his ex, Sara, and his son. So now they’re all on the run from the NYPD, the Russian Mob, Mark’s old agency, and for the four world-famous assassins, they’re is always a plan to protect those they love. The question is who will survive and if they will break their sobriety? This is the third novel in the series, and it’s another great one. The action is top-notch, the story is a page-turner, and the book itself is easy to read. Author Rob Hart has written a masterclass in how novels should be written. Short chapters, with no useless filler, just all story. I hope this series goes on for a long time.
