Janae Sanders is a divorced mother of a son, who is 15, and is a nurse. She has a good relationship now with her ex-husband and has to deal with her overbearing mother. Then Adam Henderson, who she went to school with, and is part of the group of friends she hangs out with, returns to town to work at the high school. He is a former basketball star, having played in the NBA. When he first sees her, he knows he wants her. He wears her down, and they begin hanging out and having hot sex. Janae is freaking out about getting too close after being burned by her ex, and then something happens to derail their relationship before it can take the next step, and she has to decide if she can let herself trust and fall in love again. This is a sexy, fun novel and following these two as they fall for each other is heartwarming. At its core, the book is about friendship, love and starting over. A refreshing start to the new year in books in 2026.
